About Darlaghat Wildlife Sanctuary in Solan

Darlaghat is a small village situated in the Solan district, Himachal Pradesh. The village is situated at an elevation of 1,800 meters and presents awe-gasping views. The village is majorly known for the Ambuja Cement plant and Darlaghat Wildlife Sanctuary that is situated nearby. It borders with National Highway 88, i.e., it passes through the Shimla-Bilaspur-Kangra highway.

Darlaghat Wildlife Sanctuary

Darlaghat Wildlife Sanctuary is spread over an area of 44 square kilometers. It was established in the year 1974. The sanctuary consists of subtropical forests. The sanctuary is a home for a plethora of exotic birds and animals. Some of the many animals that are found here are sambals, wild boars, black bears, jungle fowls, migratory birds such as Kaleej and Chukor.

Another highlight of this wildlife sanctuary is the many treks that are organized here. Many people flock to Darlaghat, Himachal Pradesh, just to get a glance of this awe-gaspingly beautiful sanctuary. Moreover, the climate also remains pleasing during the spring and summer season. On the contrary, during the winters, the temperature really drops low and can reach the freezing point as well. However, no matter when you plan on visiting, this sanctuary provides a landscape worth watching.

We had initially not so good but later a better experience with Ideal tours. We had asked agency to book Volvo for travel from Delhi to Manali. After getting on the bus we got to know that Volvo tickets are non pre-booked and we have to pay to Volvo (This was included in our package). As requested b

y travel agency we paid the 2nd instalment on 1st day of the trip but on 3rd day itself owner of travel agency asked us to pay to cab service by ourselves. Our understanding is we pay to agency and later they pay to hotels and cabs etc. At last after lot of insistence from Agency we paid the whole amount on 2nd day itself. (It was agreed that we will pay last instalment after half trip is completed). Can driver for Manali site seeing was not professional. He was late at every spot we got down. His family was also travelling with us in cab. He would not On A/c in afternoon in summer. Resort The Stream was amazing in Kasol Driver from Kasol to further trip was good. Hotel in Dalhousie was very Average and 7 km outskirts of Dalhousie. Hotel in Dharamshala was also good. On last day, we had night journey from Amritsar to Delhi which was booked by Agency on very last day and also they booked semi sleeper instead of Sleeper. Sleeper buses are available on that route The Stream resort in Kasol
