Malana is a small village in Himachal Pradesh, which is famous for its beautiful views and the ample availability of marijuana. The trek that takes you to Malana is one of the best in the state and offers an immense chance to enjoy the natural beauty that surrounds you from all sides. The village is completely isolated from the chaos and hustle bustle of the city. The foggy mornings here and the fruit orchards that flank both sides of the village are sure to soothe your soul. This small village has its own judiciary system, which is not a very practical one, but it is what they believe in. The locals are mostly friendly but do not allow any outsiders to stay here for the night. You can enjoy the trek up to Malana, but then you have to leave it in time to return to your starting point while there is still some daylight.

Places To Visit In Malana

Malana is a small village in Himachal Pradesh and hence there are not many places to visit here. The two most prominent places which one must definitely visit while going to Malana are Jamdagni Temple and the Shrine of Renuka Devi. The temples have their own religious beliefs and are famous for their wooden and stonework. Close to this village is another important temple which is dedicated to Lord Shiva called the Mahadev Temple. One can even visit Mandi, a small town near Malana famous for its wildlife sanctuaries.

Things to Do in Malana

One can enjoy trekking in this scenic village of Malana as a number of trekking routes pass through this village. One can explore the temples in Malana as these have intricated wooden work and also the skulls of animals sacrificed can be seen hung on the walls of the temples. One can see the terraced plantation of hemp or charas which is grown legally here and in abundance.

The views from Malana village, apart from the arcane rituals and customs of the villagers, make for an interesting trip. Make sure to visit Malana, if you are in Kasol.

(1)Hotel naggar delight was elegant and the staff very cordial but no heating provided in the room despite of very cold temperature. Food was good too.. (2) hotel chalo kasol had good rooms and staff...food was only just ok..approach road was very bad ( even the cab driver was unhappy with the road conditions) (3) hotelmajestic view ..very risky and dangerous approach road...we had to climb totally insecure and dangerous slope to enter tha hotel ( remember we are senior citizen and my Wife was aghast of the slope without any railing as she has knee and hip joint problems..so we decided to cut short our stay and check out a day earlier than planned.. Naggar cafe wool ..kasol riverside sitting are the best memories we carry
